We are the Philadelphia Main Line based branch of Classical Conversations, a company which promotes a classical model of education in communities across the US. Our community meets weekly in Bryn Mawr at Proclamation Presbyterian Church to support our children learning through the time proven Trivium method comprised of: grammar, dialectic & rhetoric (aka. knowledge, understanding and wisdom).
It sounds formal. Don’t let that scare you. We are a group of parents devoted to teaching our children how to learn, filling their minds with information which then enables them to have informed and educated opinions. For more on the Classical Model, read here.
We are all believers in Jesus Christ. Though we attend different churches and approach our Faith in a variety of ways, we start our weekly sessions with prayer and handle all conflicts prayerfully.
As a community, we strive to support one another not only in our weekly meetings, but as homeschooling families who face unique challenges. When you decided to bring your children home, or keep them home, and teach them, there are major life shifts which occur and we are here to support each other in that walk.
We schedule educational field trips, family pot lucks and the infrequent (but much anticipated) moms’ nights out.
Homeschooling is a challenge, but it isn’t one you should face alone!
